General Leasing Information

The Citroën and Peugeot Car Leasing programs offers brand new vehicles direct from the factory for non European Union residents travelling to the EU. Not only do you receive a brand new tax free Citroën or Peugeot (the model of your choice), it includes full comprehensive insurance with nil excess which means you are completely covered for travel in up to 40 countries throughout Europe.

Important note: Please book well in advance.

Registration papers should be filled out and returned to your agent or Auto Europe at least four weeks prior to collection date of your car. Additional time maybe required if the pick up is outside of France. It may be possible to arrange a car lease on short notice, please call us toll-free at 0800 983 468 for more information.

How long can a car lease be?

• All leases must be at least 21 days and up to 175 days. If you plan to return your vehicle to Portugal then the maximum number of days is 90.
• Students, teachers, trainees and missionaries can book a Citroën or Peugeot Lease for longer than 175 days. Please call us toll-free at 0800 983 468 for details.

Eligibility for a car leasing in Europe:

• Reside outside of the European Union
• Stay in the European Union for no more than 185 days in any consecutive 12 month period
• Not carry out any paid activity during your stay (no working Visa's allowed)
• Minimum age 18 years with a valid driver's licence, no maximum age (unlike many rental car agreements)

All car leases include:

• A brand new Citroën or Peugeot vehicle direct from the factory.
• Full comprehensive insurance cover with no excess, including third party liability and theft.
• Full factory warranty.
• Unlimited kilometres.
• 24 hour roadside assistance (conditions apply).
• Maps and vehicle information guide.
• All vehicles are left hand drive.
• Free additional drivers (for direct relatives of the lease holder).

The following countries are covered by insurance and for assistance:

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (Greek Territory only)~, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Metropolitan France (including Corsica), Germany, Gibraltar, Greece (excludes Crete and Greek Islands), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy (including Sicily and Sardinia), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (including Azores and Madeira), Romania, San Marino, Serbia*, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including Balearic and Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, the Vatican, United Kingdom.

~The cover of insurance provided for Cyprus is limited to the geographical parts of Cyprus which are under control of the government of the Republic of Cyprus.

*The cover of insurance provided for Serbia is limited to the Republic of Montenegro and the geographical parts of Serbia which are under control of the government of the Republic of Serbia.

Travel is not permitted into the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Belarus, Israel, Iran, Kosovo, Moldova, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the Greek Islands. Travel to these countries is at the lessees risk and is not covered by the Peugeot insurance or Peugeot assistance.

If you need to pick up or drop off your car outside of France, an additional fee applies. Approximate fees shown below in ZAR. Fees must be prepaid and are applied to both pick up and drop off outside of France.

Car Leasing Cancellation Policy

The fees below, shown in Euros, will apply if you cancel your booking. Fees are based upon where vehicle is scheduled to be delivered and number of days prior to delivery.

Applicable Cancellation Charges for our Car Leasing Program:

Pick up in France & any other European country

• Cancel more than 21 days before pick up - no penalty
• Cancel less than 21 days before pick up - €1000*
• No Show - €1000

*When cancelling less than 21 days in advance, we will send a cancellation confirmation within two business days of the cancellation request. The cancellation penalty is based on a change in French law which does not allow registration of a vehicle to be made invalid for short term leasing. The lease vehicle once registered can no longer be considered a new vehicle and incurs a cancel penalty of €1000.

Cancellation at the time of delivery:

For any reason, if you are not pleased with the vehicle and wish to cancel, you must not take delivery of the vehicle. This is compulsory.

If you wish to change the car for another one, you will be invoiced the following fees (registration of the first car + other expenses), but you must not take delivery of the first car.

Early Return Policy for your Lease

The following terms apply if you return your vehicle early.

• Initial contract must be for more than 30 days
• Return must be 7 days or more before the contracted Return Date.
• Client must request refund from the Booking Agent.
• Refund will be daily rate (after the 21-day minimum contract), per day unused, minus 16%.
• There will be no refund less than the 21-day rate.
• Please be advised the rate structure on a car lease is one rate for the first 21 day period and an additional charge for each additional day. If you require further details of the possible refund for shortening your lease, contact our representatives.
