Traveling in Falun with a Rental Car

The copper mine is definitely the main attraction here in Falun. It began operating in the mid-1200's and shut down in 1992. A tour of the mine lowers visitors up to 208 meters below ground and provides some fascinating sights! Depending on the time of year you visit you will be able to enjoy fantastic cross country skiing in the Lugnet sports area or swimming in Lake Runn. If you prefer down hill skiing, easily accessed with your car hire is Romme Alpin where you will find very nice slopes. In Sundborn, relatively close to Falun, visit the 19th century home of famous artist Carl Larsson.
